Two inner discs (iD) are positioned inside the barrel at the sweetspot to stop the barrel from flexing past the performance limit. Precise positioning of iD within the barrel also extends the sweetspot over a much larger area. The X-1 composite design layers together sheets of aerospace-grade graphite and cements them with epoxy resin at different angles to provide the optimal combination of performance and durability in a bat.
